James Fetzer

From Knowledge Fight Wiki

James H. Fetzer (born 1940) is an American conspiracy theorist, author, and former academic. He is a prominent figure in the promotion of various conspiracy theories and has been involved in numerous controversies.

Fetzer earned a Ph.D. in the history and philosophy of science from Indiana University and taught philosophy at various institutions, including the University of Minnesota Duluth. Over time, he became increasingly known for his unconventional views, most notably concerning the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the September 11 attacks, and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Fetzer is a co-founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, a group that questions the official account of the September 11 attacks. He has published extensively on the topic, promoting ideas that have been widely criticized and debunked by experts.

A particularly controversial aspect of Fetzer's work involves his claims about the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which he has asserted was a "hoax" orchestrated by the government to promote gun control. These claims have resulted in legal action against him by the families of the victims. In 2019, a Wisconsin judge ruled against Fetzer in a defamation lawsuit, ordering him to pay damages to one of the victim's families.

Fetzer has also been linked to other prominent conspiracy theorists, including Alex Jones. Both Fetzer and Jones have propagated similar narratives surrounding major events, although they have not always closely collaborated. Nonetheless, their works often overlap within the same circles of conspiracy theory proponents.

Fetzer's activities have drawn significant criticism from experts, media watchdogs, and the general public due to the sensitive nature of the topics he addresses and the often misleading information he disseminates. Despite this, he continues to be an active figure within the conspiracy theory community.
